October 2025 Recap!
October was another amazing month for RUWIB! From professional development workshops to fun socials, this month was packed with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together. Road to Success: We kicked off the month with a professional development event designed to help members strengthen their interview skills and refine their personal pitch. EY experts shared valuable strategies and insights to help students present their best selves in professional settings. Attendees also had the opportunity to receive personalized resume reviews, ensuring their unique strengths stood out to future employers. An inspiring and empowering event for all!
Snacks & Snowcones Bake Sale: This month we also held a Snacks & Snowcones Bake Sale! Members and students stopped by to enjoy tasty treats and refreshing snowcones while supporting RUWIB. It was the perfect way to connect with our community and raise funds for future initiatives all while enjoying some sweet snacks and smiles!
Characters Walk: One of RUWIB’s signature charity events, the Characters Walk, made October even more special! Each year, this event supports the Newark Public Library’s Children’s Literacy Program. Members and attendees enjoyed a day filled with delicious food, exciting games, and festive Halloween activities, all for a great cause!
Coffee Bar Bake Sale: What’s better than coffee and community? Our Coffee Bar Bake Sale offered a cozy caffeine fix complete with flavored syrups, cold foam, and tasty pastries. Members and visitors alike loved the fall-inspired flavors and the warm atmosphere, the perfect pick-me-up to power through mid-semester!
Second GBM of the Semester: October brought spooky season energy with our BOO BASH! Members came together for a fun afternoon of games, laughter, and Halloween excitement. From a thrilling Kahoot competition with boo baskets as prizes to our hilarious Mummy Wrap race, the event was full of energy and festive spirit. With pasta, apple cider, and snacks fueling the fun, it was the perfect way to celebrate the season with our RUWIB family!
Charm Bar Fundraiser: We closed out the month with a charm bar! Members got to unleash their creativity through a fun, hands-on experience designing their own sparkling custom lip gloss and phone charms to match their vibe. For just $3, attendees received everything they needed to make something unique, all while supporting RUWIB.
